Short for “You Only Live Once,” YOLO embodies the modern version of *Carpe Diem* — a call to savor life’s moments without compromise. The idea for YOLO was born during the first COVID lockdown, when founder Jérôme Stefanski — like many of us — found himself enjoying a few more aperitifs than usual.
A long-time beer lover with experience in the industry, Jérôme began to dream of something better: a local, health-conscious beer that didn’t sacrifice taste. He teamed up with two friends, and after months of experimentation, the recipe was perfected — a refreshing, 100% natural, sugar-free lager that you can enjoy fully, without second thoughts.
ROOTED IN BELGIUM
YOLO is proudly brewed in Belgium, the heartland of beer.
Every batch is crafted using artisanal methods in small 30-hectoliter vats to preserve the beer’s quality and character. We work exclusively with small Belgian farms for our malts and hops, ensuring traceability and supporting local agriculture.
From ingredients to packaging — even the labels and cartons — every element of YOLO is sourced in Belgium. Because we believe great beer should support the land and people that make it possible.

Our secret? An innovative brewing technique that transforms all natural sugars into alcohol during fermentation — thanks to a precise blend of yeasts and natural enzymes.

FROM KITCHEN EXPERIMENT TO BREWING INNOVATION
“During the first lockdown in March 2020, the weather was nice and I started having more aperitifs than usual,” recalls founder Jérôme Stefanski. “I love the good things in life, and I’ve always been a big beer fan. But I noticed most beers on the market still followed centuries-old recipes loaded with sugar and unnecessary additives.”
“In May 2020, stuck at home like everyone else, I bought a homebrewing kit and started experimenting in my kitchen. With help from a brewing partner and an agricultural engineer, we perfected the recipe. It took 9 months of R&D — the time needed to give life to this beautiful 33cl baby.”
